For all of you interested in exploring new places, the second episode of The Winery takes us to Magliano in Toscana, Italy. On the first day, we’ll help with the grape harvest at Fattoria Mantellassi with brothers Giuseppe and Aleardo, two famous italian producers of Morellino di Scansano. As the sun sets, we’ll head to the Morellino Classica Festival Internazionale di Scansano, a unique event of its kind with exclusive concerts amongst the vineyards at the best wineries in Maremma. On the second day, we’ll be looking for some adrenaline, we’re going skydiving with SkyDive Argentario! Then an agronomist will take us to see the vineyards of some of the producers of the wine cooperative Vignaioli del Morellino di Scansano. We’ll finally get to put our feet up at Agriturismo Le Due Ruote a holiday farm in the heart of the Natural Park of Maremma, before enjoying some typical regional food. On the third day, we’ll visit Magliano in Toscana, a town with lots of small shops selling craft goods, as well as a great restaurant, Ristorante Da Guido, where we’ll find out how to make Tortelli Pasta with Potato and Truffle!
We’re heading for Magliano in Toscana - Province of Grosseto, Italy, a 2 hours drive from Pisa airport or 1 hour 40 min from Rome Fiumicino airport.
TheWinery 1. In the heart of Montemerano there is a very famous restaurant of national and international renown. This restaurant is called Ristorante “da Caino” GRAND CHEF Relais & Chateaux and has two Michelin stars. The heart and soul of this place is definitely Valeria Piccini. The Caino cellar is truly spectacular, extending several metres under the ancient square with recesses, rooms and subterranean nooks where some 20,000 bottles are stored.
After a day in the vineyards, we take part in a major event, Morellino Classica Festival of Scansano in Tuscany. Surrounded by vineyards in some of the most magnificent wineries in Maremma, you can lose yourself to some world-renowned music; all this in a fascinating natural setting accompanied by an excellent glass of wine and some delicious regional fare.
